Proshares rolls out ETFs offering exposure to the difference in yield between Treasuries and TIPS

ProShares has licensed the Dow Jones Credit Suisse 30-Year Inflation Breakeven Index for two exchange-traded funds (ETFs). The ProShares 30-year Tips/TSY Spread ETF and the ProShares Short 30-year Tips/TSY Spread ETF were both launched on January 12.

The Proshares launch is designed to enable investors to track the market's expectations for long-term inflation, according to Michael Petronella, president of Dow Jones Indexes in New York.

Investors can use a derivative ETF or an index as a means
