Société Générale offers alternative to spread betting to UK and German markets

Société Générale's product is likely to be used by those who have lost out on spread betting or equity investors wanting to boost returns.

SG gives investors a new way to access the FTSE on the LSE

Société Générale (SG) has launched a product in the UK designed to be an alternative to spread betting: the return on the product is either £10 or nothing.

The Super 10 products originally listed in Germany in 2009, where they have been popular, according to Alexandre Houpert, head of listed products northern Europe at SG in London. They were taken to the London Stock Exchange in June but the official marketing push on the products will not come until September this year.
