iShares launches local currency emerging market debt ETF

iShares has listed an exchange-traded fund in London in response to institutional demand for access to emerging market bonds and currencies

Exchange-traded fund (ETF) provider iShares has listed an emerging market local currency bond ETF on the London Stock Exchange, giving investors access to the high yields on offer from these bonds as well as appreciation in the local currencies.

The iShares Barclays Capital Emerging Market Local Government Bond Fund complements iShares' existing US dollar-denominated emerging market bond fund, which listed in London in February 2008 and has attracted $980 million in assets.
