Weathering the financial crisis proved a challenge for most players in the financial sector, but where some may have struggled, Alpha Financial Technologies (AFT) drew strength from its relatively niche strategy at the time to help it scale up its business, now reaching over $3.4 billion invested in products using its indexes.

The firm was founded in 2001 by chief executive Victor Sperandeo – also known as Trader Vic. Based in Dallas, Texas, AFT develops and provides futures-based indexes used
