Wheatley to head UK Consumer Protection and Markets Authority

Martin Wheatley has been named head of the UK's Consumer Protection and Markets Authority, one of the two bodies that will be created in 2012 to replace the FSA. See link below for extended interview.

Wheatley named as head of CPMA

Martin Wheatley has been named as the chief executive designate of the Consumer Protection and Markets Authority (CPMA), one of the two bodies that will be created from the ashes of the Financial Services Authority (FSA).

Wheatley will also join the FSA Board from September 1, 2011, when his appointment begins. The CPMA is expected to be established by the end of 2012, according to the FSA.

Wheatley joins from Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), which he leaves this summer as
