Barrier remains intact

The 50% barrier in the Investec Capital Protected FTSE 100 Income Plan 1 has remained in place since the launch of the product last year. Those opting for monthly or quarterly payments will have received their coupons, and the same looks likely for those taking the annual payment choice

The Investec Capital Guaranteed FTSE 100 Income Plan 1 first appeared in Structured Products in June 2009. The product is a capital-protected income plan linked to the FTSE 100, and offered investors a choice of three income streams: 6% annually, 1.47% quarterly or 0.48% monthly. Income is paid unless the barrier is breached, which occurs if the index falls more than 50% below its strike level. If a barrier event takes place, payments are terminated and investors receive no further index-linked
