Barclays Wealth relaunches Emo to meet demand for emerging markets exposure

Barclays Wealth has relaunched its Emerging Market Optimiser (Emo), which gives investors protected exposure to emerging markets. The Emo is a six-year investment that links to the iShares MSCI Emerging Market Index Fund, an exchange-traded fund with exposure to 22 emerging markets, including the Bric markets of Brazil, Russia, India and China.

The Emo protects against risk by dynamically adjusting exposure to the index – reducing it when conditions are volatile and increasing it in calmer
