US Wrap: Barclays starts 2010 with reverse convertibles and protection

Barclays Bank has kicked off its New Year issuance with six reverse convertibles and two principal protected notes.

Unusually, 100% principal protection was offered on a basket-linked note that included the Dow Jones Eurostoxx 50, the Nikkei 225 and the S&P 500 indexes in equal weighting. The product lasts six years and offers 100% participation in the basket, up to a cap of 50-60%, which will be defined when the note prices.
