When Structured Products last produced a report devoted to the Americas in July 2008, the dust was settling after the shock of the Bear Stearns collapse and investors were gradually beginning to wake up to what credit risk in a structured product really meant.

We quizzed a selection of industry participants on counterparty risk, and asked if there was a perception among investors that the situation with Bear Stearns might repeat itself. One of the most prescient responses came from the buy side
