ABN creates to meet environmental demand

ABN Amro has launched Sustainable Eco (Seco) notes and swaps linked to the Kenmar Global Eco Fund (KGEF). The structured products are aimed at institutional investors looking for exposure to Socially Responsible Investments (SRI) and Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG).

The notes offer 100% principal protection at maturity using constant proportion portfolio insurance (CPPI) techniques while the swaps have been designed to provide investors with varying levels of leveraged exposure to the underlying fund. ABN has made an initial investment of US$25 million in the KGEF.
