Barclays unveils suite of income and growth plans

Barclays Wealth has launched a new suite of plans, offering a range of protected growth or income products with varying levels of protection. The Protected FTSE Plan offers 1.5 times any rise in the FTSE 100 index up to a maximum return of either 22.5% for the three-year option, or 51% for the five-year. The five-year also includes an early maturity option, which provides a 22.5% return if the index is at its starting level or above after two-and-a-half years. Otherwise, the plan continues along the same terms as the five-year option, if the index is below its starting level after two-and-a-half years. Capital is returned at maturity, regardless of the performance of the index.

Also within the range is the Minimum Return Plan, which offers 24% fixed return as well as a variable bonus of up to 18% depending on the performance of the FTSE 100 index. A 6% bonus is awarded if the FTSE is at 134% of the strike level, or higher, at maturity and 12% is given if the index is at 144% of the strike level, or higher, at maturity. Capital is repaid at maturity, regardless of the performance of the index.
