Barclays launches new core suite of investments

Barclays Bank has launched a new core range of investments focussing on capital preservation, which are designed to offer access to products that maximise returns in volatile markets. The issuer is Woolwich Plan Managers.

The three or five-year Protected FTSE Plan offers 1.5 times the rise in the FTSE 100 up to a maximum return of 24% in the three-year option, or twice the rise up to a maximum of 48% in the five-year option. The plan also provides an early maturity option, which allows a potential 24% return after two-and-a-half years. If the option is not triggered, it is treated in the same way as the five-year plan. "These products didn’t used to have a cap and now there is higher gearing with maximum return,"
