Dow Jones and Dharma Investments launch new faith-based indexes

Dow Jones Indexes and private investment firm, Dharma Investments, have launched five Dow Jones Dharma Indexes designed to measure the performance of companies selected according to the value systems and principles of Dharmic religions, especially Hinduism and Buddhism.

The indexes, which are designed to underlie financial products such as funds, structured products and ETFs, comprise the Dow Jones Dharma Global, US, UK, Japan and India. “There has been significant demand for faith-based indexes, not only from Asia but from the UK, US and Japan,“ says Sumeet Nihalani, senior director sales Asia Pacific & Middle East at Dow Jones Indexes. “The indexes represent a form of ethical investing and investors not of a Dharmic faith will no doubt find the investment
