Index launches caught short

Deutsche Borse and Dow Jones have both released new short-selling versions of their flagship indexes. The DJ Eurostoxx 50 Short index and the Deutsche Borse Short Dax were both released on the same day last month. The indexes replicate short investment strategy and offer investors a way of securing positive returns in falling markets.

Deutsche Borse says: "(The Short Dax index) makes Deutsche Borse the first index provider in Europe to develop an effective short strategy in the form of an index."
