Riding the storm

The Structured Product LLC was launched last August, on the cusp of an exceptionally tough time for the US market. However, founder Deryk Rhodes believes that the space, which is still largely untapped, will bounce back towards the end of 2009. Sophia Morrell reports

After spending time in structuring and sales at two major global investment banks, Deryk Rhodes decided to establish an independent business last August. As suggested by the resulting name - The Structured Product (TSP)- the firm would focus on one kind of investment, and specifically the niche of third-party broker-dealers left vacant by investment banks which rely upon their internal captive audience for distribution.
