S&P partners to create investable environmental index for India

Standard & Poor's (S&P), risk advisory firm Crisil and social and environmental firm KLD Research and Analytics have launched the S&P ESG India Index, which comprises companies whose business strategies and performance demonstrate high-level commitment to environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards. The investable index is designed to underlie financial products such as exchange-traded funds and structured products.

The index is sponsored by the World Bank's International Finance Corp
