Mizuho launches alternative investment group

Mizuho International, the London-based international securities arm of Mizuho Financial Group, has launched a new alternative investment group (AIG).

The group will provide alternative financing solutions across a variety of sectors, particularly energy, and will be headed by Yves Soyfer and Alfonso de Leon Castillejo.

Mizuho says that the AIG’s focus on non-typical, complex lending will be a first for companies in emerging markets, particularly those holding strong contracts with credit-worthy entities.
