Lyxor launches ETFs on eurozone government bonds

Lyxor Asset Management, a subsidiary of French bank Société Générale, has launched two exchange-traded funds (ETFs) products based on eurozone government bond prices and listed on Italy’s stock exchange, the Borsa Italia.

The ETFs track the EuroMTS three- to five-year and 10- to 15-year maturity indexes, which independently track European government bond prices. Lyxor said the products give fund managers new opportunities to trade the eurozone government bond yield curve.

“Thanks to the addition of the maturity bands ETFs on Borsa Italia, institutional and private investors can diversify their bond portfolios through a single trade and in a cost-efficient manner,” said Isabelle Bourcier, global ETFs co-ordinator at Lyxor.
