SG launches new UK commodities trackers and warrants

SG, the investment-banking arm of French bank Société Générale, has launched tracker certificates on gold, silver and platinum. In addition, the bank has issued both call and put warrants on gold.

Tracker certificates have no fixed expiry date and offer ungeared correlation with the underlying commodity.

David Lake, director of UK warrants for SG, said the instruments offered a low-risk way for an investor to gain exposure to metal without having to take on the problems associated with physical metal trading, such as storage costs and high minimum-trading sizes.
