Building a track record

Synthetic CDOs are attracting a growing number of Asian asset managers keen to boost their returns and build a track record as collateral managers. Mia Trinephi talks to three Asian managers involved in the business

Among Asian asset managers, UOB Asset Management (UOBAM) is the biggest and most experienced collateralised debt obligation (CDO) portfolio manager. The Singapore-based firm already manages two arbitrage synthetic CDOs worth a total of more than $3 billion and is preparing to close a third deal.
