BNP Paribas bolsters inflation desk with new hires

French bank takes on two traders, including a European inflation specialist

BNP Paribas is the latest bank to see changes to its inflation team, with the French firm hiring two traders, including a new European head, but also losing a UK trader to a rival.

Matthieu Thevenet has joined BNPP as head of European inflation trading from Crédit Agricole, where he was head of inflation.

Thevenet reports to Stephane Salas, head of UK and eurozone inflation.

The bank has also hired Yiyi Zou as an inflation trader. Zou joined from Goldman Sachs, where she was a senior
