Lack of consensus would add pre-cessation option to post-cessation protocol for bilateral swaps

A consultation on whether swaps should fall back to alternative risk-free rates prior to Libor’s demise is set to relaunch at the end of this month.

The International Swaps and Derivatives Association today bowed to pressure from the Financial Stability Board’s Official Sector Steering Group by confirming its intention to re-consult with market participants on the inclusion of pre-cessation triggers in swap fallback language.
