Regulatory reforms around the world have created a challenging business environment, not just in their native jurisdictions, but for swaps market participants in Asia-Pacific as well. Initiatives including the Group of 20 (G-20) commitments, the US Dodd-Frank Act, the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (Emir), the revised Markets in Financial Instruments directive and regulation, and the Basel III reforms all have an impact well beyond their borders.
