Isda's chairman discusses some of the changes in the regulation of the over-the-counter derivatives market

Derivatives practitioners are preparing themselves for a flood of new regulation that could fundamentally change the over-the-counter market.

The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision is finalising its changes to bank capital rules, dubbed Basel III, which will include a new charge on credit value adjustment, two liquidity ratios, requirements on quality of capital and a leverage ratio. The committee is also conducting a consultation on a counter-cyclical capital charge.
