Sales of variable annuities are continuing their upward trajectory. Sales for the US alone in 2007 were up 16% on the previous year, to a total of $182 billion, according to Nava, the Association for Insured Retirement Solutions. Insurance companies are continuing to introduce a host of new products, competing intensely on innovation and death and living benefit features to attract the baby boomer
