Fortis distributes first ABN Amro product in Belgium and Luxembourg

Fortis Retail Bank is distributing an ABN Amro product in Belgium and Luxembourg, the first since its acquisition of the Dutch bank three months ago. The Eco-3 plus note is described as a sustainable investment by Belgium-based Fortis, and is being issued by the World Bank.

The note is linked to the performance of the ABN Amro Eco Index, which includes companies involved in the production of alternative energy, clean water, waste processing and carbon reduction, which are expected to benefit from action against climate change. Lasting six years, it pays a variable annual coupon of between 3% and 6% depending on the performance of the index and is 100% capital guaranteed at maturity.
