Earth Capital Partners - the newly formed sustainable development investment business - plans to raise $5 billion over the next five years to invest in global SD projects. Katie Holliday talks to partner Ben Cotton and chief executive officer Rufus Warner

London-based venture capital fund Earth Capital Partners launched in December 2008 with $250 million seed money and a goal of raising $5 billion in the next five years for investing in sustainable development projects. The company recently received regulatory approval from the UK's Financial Services Authority and now awaits approval from Guernsey which is expected within weeks.

Despite the current environment, ECP's founders are still confident of hitting their $5 billion target and expect
