TFS brokers first Singapore-approved CDM project

TFS Energy has brokered the first Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project to be approved by a Singaporean Designated National Authority (DNA).

The financial and non-financial product brokerage, which also brokers Certified Emissions Reductions (CERs) in Southeast Asia and China, acted as the intermediary between Japanese power company Kansai Electric Power and Singapore-based environmental solutions provider Bee Joo Industries.

Kansai will initially purchase CERs from a thermal energy recovery project in Singapore and will later purchase up to 95,000 CERs over a period of five years from early 2008.

The project is expected to generate
