Amerex forms REC purchasing partnership with Aramark
Amerex Brokers has formed a partnership with professional services firm Aramark Corporation to provide clients with an array of energy services, including the purchase of renewable energy credits (RECs).
Amerex and Aramark will assist institutions with the purchase of RECs, which represent units of energy expended by a business. When purchased they can be invested into renewable energy solutions such as wind power, water power and solar energy.
The credits are also traded. The REC concept enables companies such as green power providers to sell two commodities: power and a green attribute representing the absence of many of the negative impacts of fossil fuel generated power.
