Tradition’s Pinchin looks back on successes and failures

A pioneer of over-the-counter currency options in the early 1980s, David Pinchin went on to found interdealer broker Tradition Financial Services in 1985 with Julian Harding. Between them they built the business from scratch into one of the biggest brokers in the world.

Although Pinchin's experience is extremely broad – the firm started in currency options before moving into metals, energy and equity derivatives – he has an obvious soft spot for energy.
