Platts shifts focus away from price reporting code

Price reporting agency says it intends to concentrate on complying with Iosco rules, leaving future of IPRO code in doubt

Work towards an industry code of conduct for price reporting agencies (PRAs) is being de-emphasised by New York-based Platts, according to Dan Tanz, London-based vice-president of editorial at the company.

Tanz’s remarks came during an update on the long-awaited independent price reporting organisations’ (IPRO) code at International Petroleum Week in London on February 17.

Platts has been working on the code with rival PRAs Argus Media and Icis, both of which are based in London. In April 2012
