Bank of America (BoA), which swept the board in the Energy Risk Natural GasRankings 2004, is arguably home to one of the most innovative and successfulgas trading operations in the US. The bank has been trading commodities since1989. From 1998 following its merger with Nations Bank, it began to focus purelyon the energy side of the commodities business, particularly gas trading and,more recently, power.
