Point Carbon buys Natsource Scandinavia’s analysis unit

Carbon emissions consultancy Point Carbon has bought Natsource-Tullett Scandinavia, Europe’s largest power and gas analysis firm, but will disband Natsource’s Oslo brokerage operations. The move adds power and natural gas market analysis to Point Carbon’s carbon analysis and forecasting services.

Meanwhile, Oslo-based Schibsted, an international media publisher, has made an equity investment in Point Carbon. This strategic partnership will facilitate Point Carbon’s global expansion efforts and improve the distribution channels for its carbon market information services, says the consultancy.

Point Carbon chairman Per-Otto Wold says the Natsource acquisition positions his firm as the number one supplier of price-driving fundamentals for European energy and environmental markets.
