Exchange of the Year, Asia – Singapore Exchange
The Singapore Exchange (SGX) has grown its volumes substantially this year and worked hard to inform Asian market participants about the benefits of risk management. On this basis, the platform has been awarded Energy Risk's Exchange of the Year, Asia for the second year in a row – it has now won this accolade three times overall
Educating market participants is a top priority for SGX and the exchange frequently makes presentations at industry events, conducts hedging seminars and travels across regions to liaise with clients face-to-face. "In Asia, hedging is not as prevalent as it is in Western countries, but we do see signs of companies getting more interested in this subject now due to the recent price volatilities. Our colleagues travel to China every month to visit steel mills, shipping companies and oil companies
