Professor of the Institute of Economics, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He earned his PhD in Economics at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and spent part of his PhD as a visiting scholar from the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel of Brazil at the Leeds University Business School. Former senior analyst in regulatory studies at the Brazilian Financial and Capital Markets Association and former research assistant at the Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation.
