Mark T. Klein
Mark is co-owner of VK Clean Energy Partners LLP which is developing over 600 MW of utility scale solar projects in Wyoming, Utah and Montana. VK Clean Energy Partners is developing the three largest solar projects (MTSUN 80 MW, Broadview Solar 80 MW and Broadview Solar II 300 MW) in Montana near Billings, MT. These projects have all been designed to incorporate energy storage.
Previously Mark owned Pacific Northwest Energy Consultants an energy consulting company that provided technical advice and analytic solutions and support to utilities, merchant generators, developers, investment banks, and other major consulting firms.
Mark has 35 years’ experience in the electric, natural gas, oil, and coal industries and he has extensive knowledge of the electricity, natural gas, renewable, and coal markets in the US, UK, South America, Central America and Asia.
Mark’s knowledge of the California and Western US, New York, Mid-Atlantic, and New England generation, natural gas and renewable energy markets was gained over a twenty-year span from previously serving as Vice President of electricity and natural gas trading for PacifiCorp and the Public Service Company of the New Mexico.
Mark has both B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Idaho and Washington State University respectively and he is a registered Professional Engineer (Texas).
