Kiumarz Goharriz
Kiumarz is an industrial engineer with diplomas in Mechanics and Big Data for public policy. Co-designer of various developments focused on enhancing transparency, probability, and access to energy information; looking to empower Chile as a more open government country. Among them is the well-known website Energía Abierta -which was the first open data website for the energy sector in Latin America-. This site contains other solutions, such as Daily Reports, Monthly Reports, NCRE Reports, Financial Reports, Yearbooks, georeferenced websites (Energía Maps and Energía Región) and two mobile applications, where users are able to check Online Fuels Prices.
He has actively participated in the development of the first tool based on blockchain technology to manage information related to the energy sector and their latest energy yearbook with blockchain certified information.
As a result, in 2017 his team was recognized by the Foundation Foro Innovación, TVN, and El Mercurio with the National Innovation Prize “Avonni” for being the greater public initiative in terms of relevance and impact for Chile. Also, in 2018 were recognized by IRENA as one of the 20 most innovative initiatives in the world.
Born in Madrid with more than ten years living in Chile, Kiumarz enjoys the outdoor life, sports, scuba diving and cooking for his family and friends.”
