Björn Häckel

Prof. Dr. Björn Häckel studied Business Administration at the University of Augsburg with a major in Business & Information Systems Engineering, Financial Engineering, Public Sector Management and Production and Logistics. From 2004 - 2010, he worked as a scientific assistant at the Research Center Finance & Information Management (FIM) where he finished his doctoral thesis on the research topic "Integrated Risk and Return Management" in 2010.
From the end of 2010 until 2012 , Prof. Dr. Häckel worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Research Center FIM. Since 2013, he holds a deputy professorship for Business Engineering with the major in Finance, Operations and Information Management at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (University of Augsburg). Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Häckel is head of the research group "IT-based Financial Management" as well as assistant head of research at the Research Center FIM. His research topics include especially the application of financial methods on the evaluation and management of IT investments as well as IT portfolios. Moreover, he is engaged in IT-enabled identification, quantification and control of systemic risk in value-adding networks.
