Dr Amir Hasnaoui holds a PhD from Institut Mines-Télécom Business School and the University of Evry. He joined Excelia Business School in 2005, and has been Full Professor, heading up the Finance Department of Excelia Business School. He teaches Finance, Information Systems Management and e-Commerce to the Group’s students. His areas of research focus on FinTech (Financial Technology), Electronic Payment Systems (B2C) and the Appropriation of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). He is particularly interested in the impact of ICT on Education and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Dr Hasnaoui has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals. Every year, he organises and participates in several international conferences (AIM, AFFI, AoM, EURAM, ECIG etc.). He is also regularly involved in the evaluation process of conferences, symposia, workshops and journals. For the past 10 years, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Association Information & Management (Information & Management Association), which brings together teachers, researchers and professionals specialising in information systems. His vocation is to promote debate on this disciplinary field within the French-speaking community.

This paper extends typical research on herding behavior to commodity futures markets, investigating five markets and finding herding behavior during the global financial crisis and at the beginning of the Russia - Ukraine conflict.
