Filippo Petroni

Filippo Petroni currently is professor of Mathematical Methods for Economics, Finance and Insurance at the Polytechnic University of Marche. He graduated in Theoretical Physics from Turin University in 1999. He received his Ph.D. in Computational Neuroscience from Newcastle upon Tyne University in 2003. He has worked, as post-doc, at the University of L’Aquila, University of Liege, Nordic Institute for Theoretical Physics in Copenhagen and at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. His research interests include, among other topics, analysis and modeling of financial markets, languages, social systems, renewable energy. He has authored more than seventy papers published in peer review journals and he participated actively to many international conferences worldwide.

The authors model the power production and income of a wind-photovoltaic energy plant to determine the portfolio that maximises profitability as well as the optimal choice between wind and photovoltaic plants.
