Imap burden 'exorbitant' - Allianz CRO

The CRO of Allianz told delegates at Insurance Risk Europe this week of the burden on the firm of internal model approval

Tom Wilson, chief risk officer at Allianz, complained of the burden of the internal model approval process (Imap), speaking at the Insurance Risk Europe conference this week, and said documentation alone for Imap is running into tens of thousands of pages.

Wilson, whose firm is one of only a handful in Germany planning to use an internal model, told delegates during a panel discussion at the London event: "We have 110,000 pages of Imap documentation, which is exorbitant relative to the value
