European Commission confirms new head of insurance and pensions unit

A public procurement expert is to lead the European Commission's work on Solvency II, succeeding Karel Van Hulle, who retired last month.

Klaus Wiedner, currently head of public procurement legislation at the European Commission, will take over as head of the commission's insurance and pensions unit on March 18, the commission confirmed.
