More than 550 alternative managers outside the EU have registered with the UK’s national private placement regime since July 2014. Applications from the US made up almost half (48%) of all those from alternative investment fund managers (AIFMs) based outside the EU looking to market in the UK in the last year. Meanwhile, applications from financial services centres across Asia were particularly low; just 3% came from Singapore and 3% from Hong Kong.
