Staying ahead of the game

At last month's Family Office Investment Club Lunch, the message that came across was to anticipate market changes and plan for them in advance. David Walker reports

"We skate where the puck is going to be, not where it is now," said Tony Raphaely, of Ashton Advisors (UK), in his presentation to Hedge Funds Review's October Family Office Investment Club Lunch at Claridge's.

This sentiment was voiced by one presenter - yet could have stood for each of those putting forth their wares on the day, as an FX fund, a concentrated fund of hedge funds and two of Ashton's funds of hedge funds were put forward for attendees' consideration.
