• Robert Hanna, formerly of Merrill Lynch, has joined the Mako Group, where he will set up a volatility arbitrage hedge fund. Mako was launched in August 1999 from the trading and technology expertise of Saratoga. The company trades options in every asset class, but focuses heavily on exchange traded equity index and single stock options as well as fixed income and money market products.


• Foreign & Colonial is set to launch its first two hedge funds this autumn, an emerging markets equity
