Hedge funds given chance to build on gains from first quarter

More volatility and uncertainty will continue into the next quarter of 2012 but the hedge fund industry has an opportunity to capitalise on its positive performance and boost investor confidence.

Take a breath. Take stock. Nearly at the end of the first quarter, 2012 is shaping up to be not as bad as some had forecast but not exactly a trouble-free zone. The world is still a volatile place. But at least there is a glimmer of hope that things might not be as close to the cliff edge as in the most recent past.
