Hedge fund performance for March fails to hold on to start of year momentum

Hedge funds were flat to slightly negative in March. CTA/managed futures and macro hedge funds had the worst returns for the month, while relative value and fixed income had better performances.

Performance declines for Europe and Asia funds
Following a strong performance in February (up 2.05%), hedge fund returns were flat to marginally negative in March, with the Eurekahedge Hedge Fund Index dropping 0.18%.

Markets across the globe saw divergent trends, with US hedge funds showing positive returns but Europe and Asia posted some declines.

The Eurekahedge North American Hedge Fund Index gained 0.6%, bringing its year to date returns to 4.82%.
