Energy Risk Awards 2024: Voluntary carbon credit exchange brings liquidity, transparency and quality assurance to VCM

The voluntary carbon market (VCM) has a trust problem, says Ellery Sutanto, head of exchange at voluntary carbon exchange Climate Impact X (CIX). “A lack of confidence in the VCM remains a huge barrier to market participation,” he says. To help address this, Singapore-based CIX launched its CIX Exchange last June to help bring transparency and rigorous quality control to the VCM – and to help fund climate action.

“CIX exists to drive real impact by increasing access to quality carbon credits,”
