Malaysian investors have been keen to tap into the USD secured overnight financing rate (SOFR) curve as interest rates rise, but many remain wary about a reversal of the current Federal Reserve policy should a recession materialise. This has played to CIMB’s strength as a local derivatives house and encouraged the bank to bring some new products to market, including its first set of structures linked to SOFR and other risk-free rates (RFRs).
