Indonesian investors are becoming more discerning. Climbing interest rates, both onshore and offshore, meant traditional structured deposits began to offer better returns from the beginning of last year. CIMB Niaga responded by strengthening its suite of products to offer a yield pick-up many of its competitors cannot match.
The Indonesian bank had already been eyeing the possibility of interest rate rises back in 2021, when it launched the first ever 10-year market-linked deposit (MLD) product
